Its my body and my art, I will never ever let another artist put his art on me. I don't care if he has his own 'style' either tattoo my art as I drew it or I'll go someplace else.
I've been drawing designs for people for years. I usually leave out color to allow whoever they go to room to be creative with it still.
Oh, and tips for box braids, dont keep them in to long, since there not really made for your hair texture they can do more harm then good.🙂
What if its something I drew myself?
You are such a bad ass! I love your honesty!
Can you say "I want this thing in this pose in the style of this" and it be in the style of, say, Anne stokes style or something?
On the art thing I would at least ask the artist, many will respond with an answer. I've designed dresses, tattoos, and have done several art pieces. Like I'd be honored if you had it tattooed, at the VERY LEAST credit me, but even then I'd rather be asked. And I say this as someone who does not profit off of my art. If my art was my profit then I would have a very different opinion of it. I have admittedly flat out copied tattoo and comic book art for my own practice with no intent of profit and occasionally posted it but have always credited the original artist as it was their work and so it's a public acknowledgment of my admiration of their style and art, go check them out. Never do I sell the copied art.
I bring my own drawings to tattoo artists often BUT I say this is just a reference, you do your thing.

😘
When i had Mine Done, i had a drawing made by a friend But i asked the artist to perfekt it, so he made his interpretation of it and I love it!
My sister is an artist and she drew my second tattoo. The tattoo artist I went to only added shading since the original drawing was only lines, made it pop a bit more with highlights and all. I am very happy on how it turned out and what he made of it because it's still what my sister designed but with his own twist!
My ex asked me to draw up a money rose for his tattoo. He approved this with his artist. So i sat down & i drew this, it took a couple hrs. Doing the all the details. He gets back from the tattoo shop. &says "he wouldn't use the one you drew because he said you copied his friends design." 🤦😂 first of all i don't know who is friend was even to this day, & it had his name on the rose which is an extremely unique name. (Payce). So how could i have copied from another artist. & i noticed now after seeing his post on social media that he just doesn't like working with others & dogs everyone who has talent at drawing or tattooing..

Do you design by hand or digital? Are there still a lot of tattooers still design by hand or is it obselete?
Hmm, if someone has seen an image of something that they found online, done by another tattoo artist, but they want to use it as a starting point for something rather than copying the image directly, how would you feel about that? Would it still be copying/stealing, even if was only an influence?
My artist doesn't mind if I bring a idea, just would like to have it in advance to make it his own, which is what I tell him to do,they aren't Xerox machines, anyhow Great points, enjoy the show,
my dad and godfather have matching tattoos for their friend that passed away. My dad designed the tattoo the day before the funeral and they went to the artist still in their suits from the service with the design.
I can't imagine that people take artwork/photos from small artists who actively use social media and DON'T ask them? (or at least attempt to contact them)
I follow a girl on instagram and I loved one of her drawings so I
– asked her
– paid her for the drawing
– then credited the artist
It's really not hard imo
My first tattoo is a symbol of my favorite manga and I found a beautiful alternate design of it on pinterest. I went to the tattoo artist in my neighborhood and told him I want the symbol but in a similar style to the picture I found on pinterest to make it look more fancy. I told him I dont expect him to copy it, I just want it in that style. He was perfectly fine with it and I have my appointment next month.
I think using tattoos and artworks on the internet can be helpful for getting ideas. It's good for inspiration but it needs to be changed in some way. That's what I think
Thank you for making this Q-A , I needed to know this myself. Love the braids, thank you for making these videos, I understand tattoo artists so much clearer ⚡
I love and trust my artist(s) and sometimes I have a picture and let the artist add their own influence and or I just have an idea and need my artist to take "full artistic license" and work with me to form a masterpiece.
Seems that I've seen this "Yes-Font" in the backround at another homepage you thief
hahaha ;-P
I norm just ask the tattoo artist …
Hey can you tattoo one of your little doodles on me
Obviously I'm joking and also have bad grammar lol
Yeah, no. Taking someone’s artwork, even if it “doesn’t have anything to do with tattooing”, is still stealing, I’m afraid. Putting something up on the Internet doesn’t mean it’s free for the taking. Clear it with the artist.
